Office on Drugs and Crime
Founded in 1977, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime's goal was to fight the usage of drugs, criminal activities, terrorism and corruption.
Going a little back in time, our agenda item is " The controversy caused by Pablo Escobar's drug extradition with a special focus on Latin America and Colombia".
Pablo Escobar was the most notorious drug lord in history, along with being the wealthiest criminal up to this day. Being the the leader of the once biggest cartel in the world, the Medellin Cartel, Escobar changed the drug game forever. Not only did he establish the first smuggling routes into the U.S. , he also engaged in countless acts of terrorism causing the loss of many innocent civillians, and over 2800 policeman. With the vile acts, Escobar started the Drug War; where the Colombian government and the United States of America collaborated to bring " The King of Cocaine" to justice.
